Sports play a central role at MacLachlan. In addition to our regularly timetabled Physical Education programme, house league and varsity practices and tournaments take place before school, and during lunch and recess. Our fully equipped gymnasium and playing field are in constant use. Sports activities both on and off campus include:
* Basketball* Baseball* Volleyball* Badminton* Gymnastics* Weight Lifting* Track and Field* Soccer* Touch Football* Field Hockey* Floor Hockey* Archery* Wrestling* Field Lacrosse* Cycling* Golf* Skiing*
House leagues
House league activities are a major focus of our extra curricular sports programme. Students in the lower school are assigned to one of four houses when they first enter MacLachlan. The house names are Chisholm, Colborne, Sumner and Thomas. The four houses are named after prominent Oakville individuals who played a major role in the early development of the town. Gaining points for their individual houses through participation and the inculcation of a sense of 'fair play' in these activities, leads to healthy competition and keen enjoyment.
Varsity Teams
As founder of the Private School Athletic Association, MacLachlan coordinates varsity team tournaments with member schools in the surrounding area. Our varsity teams include basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross-country, flag football, floor hockey, softball and track and field.
