Suan Chang, speed skater and grade 3 student, broke provincial records and won overall gold.  At a regional meet in Newmarket, Suan Chang competed in 4 races, the 111m, 222m, 333m and the 500m. A group of staff and students at MacLachlan College participated in the World Vision 30 Hour Famine to raise awareness about world hunger. The famine ran from Friday at 8:00 am to Saturday at 1:00 pm. The students were responsible for organizing and running a variety of events.
